"A free service for the
families of public safety personnel,  active and
retired, who experience
a death, terminal illness
or permanent disability."

Professional Advisory Team (PAT)
Policy and Mission Statement

Upon the death or determination of terminal illness or total disability of any law enforcement officer of a city, county, state or federal agency or fire fighter within the State of Arizona, PAT can be requested to convene. This request can be made by the officer's or fire fighter’s association, department or agency by the affected officer or fire fighters family member and to the 100 Club directly or to any PAT member.

After the request is received from the family, PAT will meet. The officer or family will be asked to complete the PAT questionnaire to facilitate and expedite the meeting and PAT analysis of needs. After meeting with the family, PAT will provide to the family an objective, concise written report stating PAT's suggestions and recommendations regarding their individual needs. The family will not be obligated to use this advice. They may accept or reject all or part of the recommendations given.

A file will be maintained by the PAT secretary and president of all written recommendations submitted to the families by the Team. Files will be opened to outside review only after receiving permission from the affected family. Prior to any outside inspection, a written copy of this authorization must be received.

When requested, PAT members may offer their individual professional services to the Pubic Safety Personnel's family. Services shall be rendered at the lowest price or deepest discount possible. Each PAT member always will act in the best interest of the family and exercise the highest degree of professionalism in all aspects of the services they render.

Until a request for assistance is received from the family, all conversations with PAT members shall be strictly voluntary and informational in nature. PAT members shall not solicit a public safety personnel's family at any time. Each PAT member will be held individually responsible in their personal dealings with family members. Allegations of inappropriate conduct will be brought to the attention of PAT management.

The PAT's goal is to provide direction and assistance to the family in addressing financial, legal, tax, employee benefit, estate matters, educational needs, possible job training, grief or stress counseling and any other matter of importance or concern to the family. In January 2004, our services expanded to include retired public safety workers and their survivors.

The Professional Advisory Team understands that we can not change the circumstances or challenges each families faces, however, if we could relieve or be of assistance to help a family or individual become whole again, then we have accomplished our goal in “serving those who serve throughout the State of Arizona.”
