What does PAT do?
The Professional Advisory Team provides to requesting families, without charge or obligation, guidance in addressing financial, legal, tax, estate matters, educational needs, possible job training, grief or stress counseling and any other matter of importance or concern.

 

What happens after PAT is contacted?
The requesting family member will be sent a questionnaire to be filled out to assist the Team in assessing the needs of the family. Upon receipt of the completed questionnaire, the Team will meet with the family.

 

Who benefits from PAT?
The Professional Advisory Team benefits all law enforcement and firefighters, active and retired.

 

What level of support has been provided in the past?
PAT was able to assist a surviving widow obtain death certificates in one day, which she still she was not able to obtain in months. PAT was able to assist a terminally ill firefighter receive benefits he was not aware he was entitled to, directly after meeting with the Team. PAT was able to locate a life insurance policy that a surviving widow was unaware she even had in her possession. These are just a few of the many areas where PAT was able to touch so many lives.

 

Doesn’t the police or fire agency give adequate benefits to employees who are killed or seriously injured in the line of duty?
Benefits vary from agency to agency. When a tragedy strikes so often the family members need assistance or guidance with paperwork or questions of where should they go from here? Once the Professional Advisory Team has been contacted, the Team is able to step in with a core group of professional individuals who are ready to work with that family in a variety of different areas in a short amount of time.

 

How is the Professional Advisory Team funded?
PAT is a 501(c)(3) Non Profit Corporation, which is supported through individuals and corporation sponsorship, donations and future grant writing. The 100 Club of Arizona is one of the major sponsors of the Professional Advisory Team and is a tremendous supporter of PAT’s mission.

Is my membership or contribution tax deductible?
Yes. The Professional Advisory Team is an Arizona Corporation, and 501 (c)(3) charitable organization, Tax Identification Number 46-0497302. All contributions are tax deductible.
